Student Intern - Technology Services

Description

Under the immediate supervision of the director of technology services, the intern will perform a variety of duties related to the development, management, maintenance and deployment of technology in the technology services department. Duties include assisting in the day-to-day technical management and operations of the company's internal IT infrastructure, assisting with service and support of clients' IT systems and processes, assisting the director of technology services in teh management and maintenance of the hardware, software, and IT infrastructure, and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge of IBM compatible computers and peripherals, networks, Internet and Web technology. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate workload; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time and operating assigned office equipment; maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations, communicating with others, reading and writing, and operating assigned office equipment; and maintain mental capacity which allows for effective interaction and communication with others.

Education and Experience

Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior level in an accredited university, college, or junior college with a technology or computer information science major. Previous technology-related experience preferred. Candidate must possess a current overall GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale. For candidates under the age of 18, the application must be accompanied by a consent to work form that has been signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Terms of Employment

The planned length of employment is three months. After the initial term, PCG has the option of renewing the intern for an additional three-month term. Employment in this classification will not exceed fifteen hours per week during the school year and twenty hours per week during school breaks. Compensation for each term is $1,000.

Additional Requirements

A valid Delaware Class or equivalent driver's license is required. PCG requires documentation of a candidate's identity and authorization to work in the United States prior to finalization of employment. The successful candidate may be required to have a medical examination or complete a medical history.
